areas but I now live in Seattle. Interestingly the Seattle Dept of
Transportation (SDOT) is actually narrowing a number of 4 or 5 lane
streets because of speeding problems. They have found that with two
traffic lanes in each direction most people drive 10 to 12 m.p.h. over
the posted speed limit, increasing the accident and injury rates. In a
recent blog post “The Facts on NE 125th Street Speeds and Collisions”
they mention that a 3-lane configuration can easily handle 25,000
average daily trips in a safer way. I hope you can add this to your
